After a summer of quinoa salads and more margaritas than I should mention, I made a traditional meal tonight. The whole meal from start to sitting down at the table (and yelling at everyone to sit down while it’s still warm) took 30 minutes. I used agave instead of brown sugar, although I think the sugar would have crystallized better on the chop. I loved the smashed potatoes with the tiniest amount of butter and milk — and the green beans were perfect. My kids ate every bite. I think I am more a fan of the fancy salads and the margs, but, oh well. I’ll come up with a new fall obsession soon enough.
