Back on the wagon green juice

I think I mentioned I had fallen off the wagon . . . so, one of the best ways I get myself back on track is to juice every morning. Mind you, I still have something else — like a couple hard boiled eggs — because the juice isn’t enough to sustain me throughout the morning. But, that’s not the point of the juice. Juicing for me, is starting my day off right. Drinking a juice packed with nutrients to help keep me healthy. I have a friend with stage 4 breast cancer — and talking to her tonight (on a radio show, mind you!) made me realize that we do need to be more proactive with our nutrition. Eating boatloads of greens and fruits and stepping away from foods that have no nutritional value — needs to become a habit.

So, won’t you join me in trying to juice daily? You don’t even need a juicer — you can use a blender. Just make sure you chop everything really well!

Here’s my favorite recipe:

The Waldorf
1-2 stalks celery
handful of spinach leaves
2-3 apples
ginger (to taste)
1/2 lemon
Tbs. flax seed oil

Blend celery, spinach, apples and ginger and oil. Add lemon juice on top. Drink immediately and enjoy!
