You ever have one of those days when you feel nothing but bad vibrations? I had one of those yesterday. Though still on my Mexico high (I have to say it’s waning a bit, just like my tan), life comes along and challenges you to find the good vibrations. How do you find them? It’s certainly easy when things are going well: your relationship with your partner is good, your children are behaving, the bills are getting paid, you’re looking good and feeling good . . . . But, what about when all of those things are not happening? Where do you find it? Well, for me, it’s having faith and knowing that things will turn around. Positive thoughts are more powerful than you realize. I’m sure you do it with your children, why not practice it yourself? Listen to your thoughts and what you tell yourself — and if negative Nancy is in there, make her go away and replace her with hope.
I know what you’re thinking (I’ve gotten all new age on you), and how can my thoughts really change my life? Well, that’s only one part of it. Taking action is the other. You know the saying “God only helps those who help themselves”? That’s the other piece. If you are unhappy with how you look, you have to do something about it (like stop eating so much and move more) Just like circumstances in your relationships — you have to work to change them. I think we all get a little complacent, a bit lazy and really forget that we have to work hard for the things we want. No one is going to knock on your door and hand you a bag of money — although, wouldn’t it be nice?
So, work on what goes on in your head every day, and take action in your life. And, in the immortal words of Marky Mark: Feel the Vibration . . . .
