Eating clean . . .

Happy weekend Mamas! So, i did promise you that I was working on an eating plan for you. And I have it. But upon looking at it, I realize why so many people fail. It’s so damn overwhelming. It’s like walking into one of those stores that is so jammed with merchandise that you end up getting frustrated and walking out because there are too many choices. Thus I’ve decided to break it down into bite size pieces so you can absorb it and really understand — and apply it to your life.

Rule #1
Try to eat foods in their most natural state. Things that have not been processed. Stay away from things that come in boxes or cans. If you stay to the outer perimeter of your store, you’ll avoid most of those foods. Spend your time in the produce aisle. Find vegetables and fruits that you’ve never tried before. Eat a variety of fruits and veggies every day. Your plate should always contain a good amount of fruits and vegetables.

When you are checking out at the grocery store, look at your basket. It should be full of fresh food.

That’s all I’m going to say today. Focus on just this for the next day and notice what you are putting into your body.

The salad above was a huge hit at Christmas and I want you to try it this week. Your kids will love it because it is packed with fruit. You will love it because the dressing is divine. It, of course, comes from my girl Martha.
