Keeping your cells young

Read this NY Times article — once again another reason why intense exercise is so important. I don’t think you have to run 50 miles a week — I believe the point of the article is any sort of vigorous exercise most days of the week will yield similar results.

We’re almost a month into the new year . . . what is your fitness routine like these days? You need to schedule something for yourself every day for at least 30 minutes. Even on your “off” days — you need to be at least going for a walk for 30 minutes. Heck, you can even jump rope in your garage for 15 minutes. Just do something every day.

Here’s my routine:

  • Mondays – pilates
  • Tuesday – run, bike, swim
  • Wednesday – circuit train
  • Thursday – yoga/dance
  • Friday -run, bike, swim
  • Saturday – pilates/cardio
  • Sunday – circuit train

Starting next month I am going to learn Capoeira — I’ll let you know how it goes.
