It’s going to be 80 degrees this weekend in Denver. This early warming trend freaks me out a little (and stresses me out, as I need to get my stroller classes going!) but I’ll take it! Are you on spring break now? I am, and we are heading up to Steamboat! Not sure what we are going to do — maybe hike? Regardless it will be fun to get away.
It’s been awhile since I’ve shared things from around the web, so here goes. Have a great weekend!
Now that my kids are old enough, I’d like to book a family adventure trip!

A weekend with the Abundance Guy.

Hi friends, how is your weekend? I think we had a great workout at Red Rocks — at least I was very happy with it . . . I love how many people are up there working out, it’s crazy. And then there are all these tourists from other countries taking pictures of the crazy Americans working out. And how is it that we are still such a fat country? they are thinking.
Anyway, I’m in Breckenridge for the weekend. I got married here once — I love it, it so scenic and I love how the sun feels on my skin. We are hanging with my bf’s best friend — who has come to be a friend of mine. He has a very interesting business — he consults with people on how to help them have abundant lives. It’s really better if you look at his website, it’s hard to explain.
He often visits us in Denver and in the morning he makes the best smoothies. As you know, I am a BIG fan of the morning smoothie. It’s a great way to start your day. You can load it up with fruit, veggies, protein, fish or flax oil and get all the nutrients you need for the day. It is great to fix in a pinch. I can make one in minutes before I race out the door with my kids. It is hands down one of the best habits that I have. Try it.
Home again!

You know you’ve had a good vacation when you are excited and ready to go back home. I’ve had a great time with family and alone on the beach with my man — but I am dying to get back home and into a routine again. And, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t wait for fall. What? I really do love summer, but I am a little over being hot and I’m ready for fall fashion! I found the most fantastic green motorcycle jacket that I can’t wait to rock
So, what are your favorite vacations? Are you an active vacationer — learning or doing something new? Or do you like to lay around, drink and get tan? I’m a little of both, but probably leaning more toward the laying around and being slothful. Speaking of that, I’m getting ready to do another retreat in Mexico in October. This year I am offering 6 nights (I thought 4 was just too short — and not really enough time for everyone to truly relax and rejuvenate), and I’m bringing my ballet sculpt instructor. It’s going to be so much fun! Check out my website for more info and email me @ teddi@hotmamasexercise if you think you are interested in going.
I’m off to teach at Red Rocks tomorrow (a perfect way to get back into the swing of things!), I can’t wait to actually exercise again. I hope you can join us! I’ll see you on Monday with some new exercises. In the meantime, here a few things swimming around the web:
You don’t even want to know what Coolwhip is made of . . .
Boots that I am eyeballing for fall
Love this mom-blogger
Great camera for parties
Love this woman‘s style and I can’t wait to wear socks with platforms!
Did Liza sign a pact with the devil? Oh, or maybe she just has an amazing surgeon . . .
Isn’t the pillow above so cute? You can get any state . . . .
I want to go here someday — how fabulous is this retro-chic hotel?
Great new metallic eye trends that don’t seem too difficult to do myself
Have a fun weekend!

Hi my friends, what are you doing this weekend? We are headed back up to Red Rocks again for another killer workout. If you are in town, you should come join us! Details will be on the Hot Mamas Facebook page or on my website.
I completely forgot to tell you that I am going on vacation! We had been debating for a couple months about where to go, but in the end, we decided on Miami again. We both just love the heat and the culture. I’ll be posting intermittently, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, here are some fun things I found on the web this week:
Knuckle Tattoos (as seen above) look fun and ghettolicious
Stylemint– Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen’s new brain-child. Fabulous, and I’ve already ordered my first tee!
Cool tees/dresses from Surf Bazaar in Montauk
Even in this heat, I’m loving these boots!
I’m making these tonight — Delicious with a skinny margarita!
Nowness — great photography
New joint from Robin Thicke — love his new sound.
Love these high-tops from Nike!
Winning! Never interested in 2 and half men until now . . . .
I have my eyes on you:

Now that I have your attention. Ahem. You wouldn’t believe what happens when you type “nice butt” into google images . . . this is one of the more tame photos.
My students are ALWAYS asking me about how to get rid of cellulite and how to get a better butt. You wouldn’t believe the hours of research I’ve done in regard to this and I keep coming up with the same answers. About half of what you look like is attributed to genetics and the rest is what you eat and what you do physically. Some women are predisposed to carrying more bodyfat in their lower bodies just like some are more likely to carry it in the arms, etc. So, if you’re mama had/has “saddlebags” you are probably going to have a similar figure. But, cellulite is NOT genetic. Cellulite has more to do with what you eat and how you move your body. So stop blaming your mama for your cellulite — and let’s get down to figuring out how to make it go away . . . And now, for a musical interlude (btw, Will.i.am is kinda cute, no?)
I do think that you can change your butt. But it takes lots of work and diligence on your part. Eating right — eliminating fat and simple carbs from you diet, staying hydrated, & eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables do help reduce the appearance of cellulite. I know it, because I’ve done it. When I eat poorly, eat too much ice cream (I love ice cream) or things like cheese and crackers, etc. I notice that I have more dimples back there. When I’ve cleaned up my eating and really stuck to the freshest foods and laid off simple carbs (like bread, pasta, chips, anything white basically), they disappear — albeit with lots of cardio and muscle work.
If I had the exact formula, I think I might be a billionaire by now — but over the next week or so, we are going to talk about the anti-cellulite diet, and what moves you can do to help make it go away!
All for now, see you tomorrow.
Have an inspiring weekend!

Hi Mamas! What are you up to this weekend? I am on a girls trip in Sedona with my roommates from college. Have you been here? I can’t believe how beautiful these red rocks really are! We got here last night and it has been so fun catching up and laughing. You know, laughter does really heal the soul. And being with women that I have known since I was 20, is like coming home again.
We plan to do lots of hiking and laying by the pool, drinking wine and acting like girls again. I hope you have a great weekend — and you should plan a trip with your old friends soon. These are the people who helped shape who you are today.
See you Monday! P.S. I am excited to start a new post each week that will really touch on fitness issues that we are all experiencing. Next week we will talk about cellulite and those dreaded saddlebags and what to do. Stay tuned
